Motorcyclist dies in accident in Hilton Head

BEAUFORT COUNTY, SC (WCSC) – Police say one person is dead following a collision between a car and a motorcycle in Hilton Head Thursday night.

At approximately 9:45 p.m., a 2022 Nissan SUV was traveling east on Highway 278. At the same time, a 2022 Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling west on the highway.

The Nissan attempted to turn left onto Squire Pope Road, causing the motorcycle to strike the Nissan.

The motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident.

The driver of the Nissan was not injured.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating this accident.

The Beaufort County Coroner has not yet identified the victim.
