New Delhi, June 24 (PTI) – Delhi Police have arrested a man for allegedly raping a teenage girl in south Delhi’s Mehrauli area for over a year, an official said on Monday.

The girl, now 18, was a minor at the time of the incident, the officer said.

The incident was reported to the police on June 22 by Safdarjung Hospital, where the girl was admitted by her mother for an abortion in the fourth month of her pregnancy.

“The victim claimed that she was friends with a man for over a year who forced her to have sexual intercourse in Mehrauli area during the period from January 2023 to January 2024,” the person said.

The girl revealed the name of the accused after being advised by the Delhi Commission for Women and the investigating officer.
