Edo Guber: NNPP candidate Azemhe suspended by district leadership

By Jethro Ibileke

The candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) in the September 21 Edo State gubernatorial election, Pastor Azemhe Azena, has been expelled from the party.

The suspension notice of the executives of his Ward 10 in Etsako East Local Government Area of the state dated June 3, 2024 came less than four months before the crucial election.

The statement was signed by Hon Kadiri Eshimokha (Chairman), Mrs Stella Afebua (Women Leader), Comrade Eshiobu Johnson (Youth Leader) and Comrade Imonikho Abdul (Secretary).

They accused the gubernatorial candidate of gross misconduct, disrespect for the party and anti-party activities.

But the controversial candidate Azemhe Azena reacted immediately and described the alleged suspension declaration as false, irrelevant and ineffective.

He claimed that the people behind his alleged suspension were not members of the party in the district.

According to him, Mr. Goddy Lyamah is the official Chairman of Ward 10 of the NNPP in Etsako East Local Government Area.

“He has since refuted this claim as false, since the other persons whose names appeared in the suspension letter are also not members of the party,” he said.
