Fatal Memorial Day accident near Carnegie

The cause of a fatal crash near Carnegie on Monday is under investigation.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol accident report, the accident occurred Monday evening on OK-9, one mile west of Carnegie in Kiowa County.

According to police, the accident involved a 2004 Dodge Durango, in which the driver, 48-year-old Chastity Clark of Mountain View, was killed.

A passenger in the vehicle, 39-year-old Justin Dirickson of Carnegie, was flown to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, where he was listed in good condition with injuries to his inner torso, back and legs.

The cause of the accident has yet to be determined.

No other vehicles were involved.
