Policeman suspended for accepting Rs 5,000 for voting

Guntur: A Sub-Inspector of Police in Mangalagiri Town, Khaja Babu, was suspended for accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 for postal ballot of a particular party. When this matter came to light, the SI was suspended for violating the code of conduct.

According to the sources, sub-inspector Khaja Babu has a voice in his hometown Kurichedu in Prakasam district. A political party official distributed money to voters and donated Rs 5,000 for postal voting in Khaja Babu. His relatives transfer the amount to Khaja Babu online. While distributing the money to voters, the political party representative was caught by the police. They have initiated proceedings against him.

During the investigation, he said that he gave Khaha Babu Rs 5,000 in cash for postal voting. The police officials took the matter seriously for violation of the Model Code of Conduct and sent the report to IGP Sarva Srestha Tripathi. Based on the report, the IGP suspended him and issued orders.
