Beverly police charge man with cocaine trafficking

BEVERLY – Police Chief John G. LeLacheur reports that Beverly police have arrested a Beverly man and charged him with cocaine trafficking.

DAVID DAVIS, 58 years old, from Beverlywas arrested and charged with:

  • Cocaine trafficking (over 100 grams)

On Wednesday, June 26, members of the Beverly Police Drug Control Unit executed a search warrant at the home of Beverly DAVISwith the assistance of the Salem Police Department.

During a search of DAVISIn the officer’s apartment and vehicle, police found approximately 119 grams of cocaine in bags of various sizes, a digital scale, and $1,033 in cash.

A Beverly Police officer was bitten by a dog while executing a search warrant. The officer was taken to Beverly Hospital for treatment of arm injuries.

DAVIS was arrested at the scene.

DAVIS was arraigned in Salem District Court on Thursday and pleaded not guilty.

All suspects and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
