The Georgia State Patrol investigated the fatal incident that killed 21-year-old Quavarian Taylor, also known as “ManMan,” according to his family.

GRIFFIN, Ga. – A young Georgia father was killed too soon two weeks ago after he was killed as a passenger in a car crash in Griffin, family members say. The driver was under the influence of alcohol when the crash occurred, according to the accident report.

The Georgia State Patrol investigated the fatal incident that killed 21-year-old Quavarian Taylor, also known as “ManMan,” according to his family.

“A young person full of life was taken at just 21 years old,” his sister Shamaria Taylor said in an online fundraiser.

It happened on June 1 at around 10:19 p.m. on State Route 16 toward West Poplar Street when the driver of a Ford Mustang with three other passengers went off the road on a sharp curve “too fast for the conditions.”

The car then spun out of control and braked before hitting a tree. The driver told officers he drove off the road to avoid a deer. Officers then determined the driver was drunk and driving recklessly, the report said.

I am so sorry to hear this devastating news 💔 This young father was so loved and had so much life left…

GSP stated in its report that the driver was taken to Grady Hospital by Air Life the night of the incident. It is unclear if the driver is still hospitalized and if he is currently facing charges. Family members said the driver was Taylor’s boyfriend.

There were two other people in the vehicle at the time of the accident, the report said.

According to her relatives, Taylor leaves behind two little boys – a six-month-old and a two-year-old.

“Quavarian was such an honorable person; to know him was to love him in every way,” said a loved one.

A balloon launch was held in his honor.

His family would like to send a message reminding people not to drive while drunk.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration encourages citizens to act responsibly, including by:

  • If you plan to drink alcohol, designate a sober driver.
  • Don’t let your friends get behind the wheel while under the influence of alcohol.
  • If you are hosting a party, make sure all guests have a sober driver to drive home or use a rideshare or taxi to get home safely.
  • Fasten your seatbelt. “It’s your best defense against drunk drivers,” the administration said.
