MPD investigates man shot on Williamson St. in Madison

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – A man was shot and killed on Williamson Street in Madison.

The Madison Police Department confirms that a 27-year-old man was shot in the 1300 block of Williamson Street. MPD says the man was found dead when police arrived after the 911 call came in around 1:30 a.m. Friday morning.

During the course of the investigation, police have determined that the shooting was likely not random and may have been related to an altercation between the suspect(s) and the victim. The man was shot outside in the 1300 block. WMTV crews on the scene are observing a large police presence about a block from the Crystal Corner Bar. No suspects have been identified, according to MPD.

It is unclear how many shots were fired, but police believe there is gunshot damage to buildings in the area.
