The death of an inmate at the Ozaukee County Jail is under investigation. According to the sheriff’s office, a 36-year-old Milwaukee man was found dead in a cell around 2:30 a.m. Saturday. Police said he had been in the jail since Thursday and was being held on local charges and a warrant from another county. Per Ozaukee County policy, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office is now leading the investigation.

The death of an inmate at the Ozaukee County Jail is under investigation.

A 36-year-old Milwaukee man was found dead in a cell around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, according to the sheriff’s office. Police said he had been in jail since Thursday and was being held on local charges and a warrant from another county.

Per Ozaukee County policy, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office is currently leading the investigation.
