Newmarket man killed in motorcycle accident on Route 101

CANDIA — According to New Hampshire State Police, a motorcyclist was killed in an accident on Route 101 Saturday evening.

Ralph Cummings, 44, of Newmarket, lost his life in the accident at 6:30 p.m. on Route 101 eastbound. He was traveling at high speed, police said, citing preliminary investigations. Witnesses told police that Cummings lost control of his motorcycle, skidded and then fell on the roadway. He was not wearing a helmet.

Emergency responders found Cumming on the road with a 2004 Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He died at the scene.

According to police, there were no passengers in the vehicle and no other vehicles were involved in the accident.

Troop A officers were assisted by multiple agencies including Candia Police Department, Raymond Police Department, Candia Fire and Rescue, Auburn Fire Department, and Precision Towing & Recovery.
