Suspect arrested in connection with 2023 Lauderdale Lakes killing of man caught on video – NBC 6 South Florida

Months after surveillance video showed a man being gunned down at a Lauderdale Lakes mall, authorities arrested one of the men they believe is responsible for the killing, but said they are still searching for a second suspect.

The shooting occurred on October 23, 2023 in the 4300 block of North State Road 7.

Officials with the Broward Sheriff’s Office said officers arrived and found 23-year-old Cedarien Camper suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Surveillance footage from the site shows Camper apparently running away from gunfire when he is hit and collapses to the ground.

According to investigators, two suspects opened fire on campers and then fled the area.

One of the suspects, 24-year-old Davontay Mosley, was arrested in December on other charges and remains in jail as the shooting investigation continues.

On Thursday, Mosley, of Fort Lauderdale, was charged with first-degree murder for his role in Camper’s shooting, officials said.

Authorities have not released a motive for the shooting.
