A 50-year-old foreign national was allegedly sexually assaulted by a nurse at Artemis Hospital in Gurgaon on Sunday, police said, adding that the accused has been arrested.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning after the woman underwent a surgical procedure in the hospital.

The accused has been identified as Thakur Singh (25), a native of Tijara in Rajasthan. He was working as a nurse at the hospital for over a year, DCP East Mayank Gupta said.

“The woman had come for treatment with her daughter a day earlier and had to undergo a surgery there. Later, she was shifted to the ward. When her diaper was being changed, the attendant touched her inappropriately. She thought it was a mistake and did not tell anyone. But when he repeated it three-four times the same day, she informed her daughter, who called the police. The daughter filed a complaint on Sunday and he was arrested,” said ACP (East) Rishikant.

The FIR was registered under Section 64(2)(e) of the BNS at Sector 50 police station, he added.
