Miami Gardens accident investigation leads to road closures – NBC 6 South Florida

Authorities are investigating an accident at the corner of 183rd Street and 22nd Avenue in Miami Gardens that occurred early Tuesday.

According to Miami Gardens police, one person was hospitalized as a result of the violent collision.

Two vehicles were apparently involved in the accident, but the exact circumstances and extent of the injuries were not immediately known.

Debris was everywhere on the road. One red car at the scene of the accident looked particularly battered: the left side was crushed and the front bumper was torn off. Another vehicle had damaged bonnet.

Due to the investigation, both the eastbound and westbound lanes of Miami Gardens Drive (183rd Street) between 22nd and 24th Avenues are closed.

Alternate routes include NW 175th Street and Biscayne Boulevard.
