2 men killed in night-time shootings in the district

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said two men were killed in two separate shootings that occurred within a few hours of each other Tuesday night and Wednesday morning in Southeast DC.

The first shooting occurred just before 10 p.m. Tuesday in the 1900 block of 18th Street SE. Officials said a man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another shooting occurred hours later on Wednesday at 2:25 a.m. in the Unit block of K Street SE. A man had gone to a local hospital for help and was later pronounced dead, an MPD spokeswoman said.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact police.
