Infant dies after unexpected dog attack in Tennessee

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A toddler has died after a dog attack in Knox County. The sheriff’s office said the incident is under investigation.

The child’s mother, Chloe Mansoor, told NewsNation partner WATE that her six-week-old son, Ezra, was attacked “out of the blue” by the family dog ​​on May 24.

Ezra was then taken to East Tennessee Children’s Hospital where life-saving measures were attempted, but Mansoor said he was pronounced dead at 2:33 p.m. on May 30.

“All prayers and support are greatly appreciated,” Mansoor wrote to WATE.

KCSO said an investigation has been launched but that it is not possible to release any further information on the case because it involves a minor.
