Rape: Newlyweds raped by father-in-law | Bhopal News

Bhopal: A 24-year-old newlywed was raped by her father-in-law in Bhopal. When the survivor informed her mother-in-law about it, the latter told her to make everyone happy. The survivor returned to her parents. The accused father-in-law kept calling her and talking indecently to her. The woman informed her family and got a rape complaint filed in Chhatarpur. The case diary was transferred here and the complaint was filed against her father-in-law and her mother-in-law was also registered as an accused in the case. As the accused was staying here in Kolar area, the case was registered at Kolar police station on Saturday. Police said the accused is a retired uniform officer while the survivor’s husband lives abroad. Police said the survivor has alleged that the accused had a bad eye on her since her marriage. On the day of the incident, she was sleeping after a puja at home when the accused violated her modesty. Police said the accused and her mother-in-law threatened her with dire consequences when she raised objections and warned her to keep quiet. However, she mustered her courage and informed her family, following which the case was registered, police added.
