24-year-old man arrested for involvement in November 2023 murder

A 24-year-old man has been arrested for his involvement in a November 2023 murder. Jose Ramon Ventura, whose address is unknown, is charged with accessory after the fact for driving and transporting two people believed to be responsible for the shooting death of 20-year-old Orlando Alexander Satz Jr.

According to Montgomery County Police: “Satz, Jr. died on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, after driving his car into a parked vehicle on Spruell Drive (Silver Spring). Neighbors who heard the crash removed Satz, Jr. from the car and rendered aid when Montgomery County Fire Rescue arrived and found apparent gunshot wounds.

The Montgomery County Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit, Homicide Division, arrived at the scene and is investigating the death as a homicide. During the course of the investigation, detectives identified Ventura as the driver of a black Honda Civic that two suspects had entered after the shooting.

On Tuesday, June 18, detectives requested and obtained a warrant for Ventura’s arrest, charging him with accessory after the fact. Ventura was taken into custody by officers from the 4th District on Thursday, June 20, and served with a warrant. He is being held without bail at the Montgomery County Central Processing Facility.
