Louisiana State Police investigate fatal crash in Lafourche Parish

Three people are dead following a car crash Saturday morning in Lafourche Parish. Louisiana State Police said the crash occurred around 6 a.m. on Louisiana Highway 308 near McCloud Drive. Preliminary investigation revealed Ethelwaldo Dejesus, 55, of Metairie was traveling southbound on LA Highway 308 at a high rate of speed while negotiating a right turn. Another car was traveling northbound on LA Highway 308 when Dejesus’ car veered into the middle lane and collided head-on with the car. Dejesus, his passenger Braysi Pineda Zuniga, 30, and the passenger of the other car, identified as Page Abadie, 49, all sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. The driver of the other car sustained serious injuries and was taken to a hospital. The investigation is ongoing.

LOCKPORT, Louisiana —

Three people were killed in a car accident in the municipality of Lafourche on Saturday morning.

According to Louisiana State Police, the accident occurred around 6 a.m. on Louisiana Highway 308 near McCloud Drive.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Ethelwaldo Dejesus, 55, of Metairie, was traveling south on LA Highway 308 at a high rate of speed on a right-hand curve.

Another car was traveling north on LA Highway 308 when Dejesus’ car veered into the middle lane and collided head-on with the car.

Dejesus, his passenger Braysi Pineda Zuniga (30) and the passenger of the other car, identified as Page Abadie (49), all suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene of the accident.

The driver of the other car suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital.

This is an ongoing investigation.
