Fire breaks out in Brandywine barn and spreads to house; investigation ongoing

BRANDYWINE, Maryland. – On July 28, 2024, at approximately 3:45 p.m., emergency personnel were dispatched to the 13500 block of Crain Highway in Brandywine following a report of a structure fire.

When firefighters from the Prince George’s County Fire Department arrived on scene, they found a barn engulfed in flames. The fire had spread to an adjacent one-story home. The fire crew immediately began extinguishing the fire.

To facilitate water supply, Crain Highway northbound from the accident site to Williams Drive was temporarily closed.

Fire investigators are currently on site. The cause of the fire is still unknown and the investigation is ongoing. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported so far.
