Death investigation underway after body found in Sauk Rapids park

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a man’s death in Sauk Rapids on Sunday.

According to Sauk Rapids police, officers responded to a report of a dead man at Lions Park just before 7 a.m.

The cause of the man’s death is unclear and police have not commented on whether they suspect foul play.

Sauk Rapids police requested assistance from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension in the investigation “due to the location of the deceased.”

Authorities expect more information to be available once the coroner has identified the deceased and determined the cause of death.
