Pedestrian seriously injured in accident on SR 17 | Columbia Basin

BRIDGEPORT – In the early morning hours of July 14, a pedestrian was struck by one or more vehicles on State Route 17, about three miles north of Bridgeport in Okanogan County. The incident occurred between 3:00 and 4:00 a.m. near mile marker 138.

The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, was walking on the highway when he was struck by an unknown vehicle. The man sustained serious injuries in the collision and the vehicle(s) involved did not remain at the scene.

Emergency services were alerted and quickly arrived on the scene to provide medical assistance. The injured man was taken to a nearby hospital where he is currently being treated for his injuries. Authorities have not yet provided any updated information on his condition.

The Washington State Patrol is actively investigating this hit-and-run incident and is urging anyone with information about the vehicles involved to come forward.
