Alarm: Evanston police ask the public for help in identifying the “Peeping Tom” perpetrator

EVANSTON, IL – Evanston Police are asking the public for help in identifying a male suspect involved in multiple peeping tom incidents and a reported assault.

The first incident occurred on June 18 at approximately 11 p.m. in the 900 block of Hamlin Street. The victim reported seeing a naked man looking into the rear windows of the home. The victim stated that an identical incident occurred the week before.

A second incident involving a naked man peering into a residence was reported on June 22 at approximately 10:40 p.m. in the 2000 block of Pratt Court. On the same day, at approximately the same time, a third incident was reported, also in the 2000 block of Pratt Court. In that incident, the naked perpetrator grabbed the victim’s buttocks before the victim fled.

  • Possibly Hispanic
  • Medium complexion

  1. Make sure your windows and doors are locked: Especially at night and when you are not at home.
  2. Close your blinds or curtains: This prevents potential perpetrators from gaining access.
  3. Report suspicious activity: If you notice someone behaving suspiciously, do not confront them, but call the police.
  4. Stay alert: Be aware of your surroundings and inform your neighbors of any unusual activity.
