Search warrant, then shooting in southeast Portland; Man dead

An officer-involved shooting on SE 124th in Portland left one man dead on May 6, 2024 (KOIN)

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man was killed by Portland police officers during a search warrant in the Hazelwood neighborhood Monday night.

Portland police officers and a SERT unit were in the 100 block of SE 124th near Burnside executing a search warrant when an encounter occurred between a man and officers, according to authorities.

The man died at the scene of the accident. Officials said no officers were injured.
