Glamorous teacher at a Catholic school in Delaware arrested for sending sexually explicit photos of herself to teenage students

A 24-year-old glamorous private Catholic school teacher has been arrested for allegedly sending nude photos of herself to a 14-year-old student via Snapchat. Alanis Pinion is accused of frequently using the app to communicate with her eighth-graders at St. Mary Magdalen School in Wilmington, Delaware.

The school serves a devoutly Catholic population and charges tuition of over $10,000 per year. It emphasizes devotion and service to God in addition to academics. According to New Castle County police, Pinion sent “sexually explicit photos” to a boy who was at least 14 years old, and they are “concerned” there may be other juvenile victims.

Pinion was arrested Thursday and arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 2. She was taken to Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution after failing to post $46,000 bail. After her arrest, she was charged with two felonies: endangering the welfare of a child and sexual battery of a child under 18.

She is also charged with a misdemeanor of first-degree public nuisance.

The Catholic Diocese of Wilmington was informed by police of the allegations and assisted in the investigation.

St. Mary Magdalen School released a statement about Pinion’s arrest, describing her as a “former part-time contract employee.”

“Earlier this week, the school was contacted by New Castle County Police, who informed us of an investigation and ultimately the arrest of a former part-time contract employee in connection with allegations of electronically exchanging inappropriate images with a former student,” the school said last week.

“The contractor had successfully completed the required background checks prior to employment.

“The school, the parish and our diocesan officials assisted the police in their investigation.

“Please be assured that the safety of our children and youth is always our top priority for all of us at Saint Mary Magdalen Parish and School, as well as our partners in the Diocese of Wilmington.”
