Former Texas DT T’Vondre Sweat, 2024 NFL Draft prospect, arrested for drunk driving

According to KXAN.com’s Billy Gates, former Texas defensive tackle T’Vondre Sweat was arrested in Austin, Texas on Sunday afternoon and charged with drunk driving.

He was released on $3,000 bail. DWI is classified as a Class B misdemeanor in Texas.

ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg provided more details about the arrest on Monday:

The 22-year-old was named both the Big 12 Conference Defensive Player of the Year and Outland Trophy winner (best interior defender) for the 2023 season after registering two sacks, eight tackles for loss and four pass deflections.

Heading into the 2024 NFL Draft, the B/R NFL Scouting department rated him as a “High-Level Backup/Potential Starter” and gave him a third-round grade, listing him as the No. 67 overall player in the draft.

Due to his tall stature (6’3″ and 300 lbs) and strength, he is expected to be a major factor against advancing to the next level.
