FORECAST DISCUSSION:

Happy Wednesday evening,

It was a humid and mild day today with temperatures reaching above normal into the lower 80s. We are seeing a few scattered showers mainly in the southeast, but there is a chance of a few storms forming this evening, mainly in the west moving southwest and then east. The primary threat from these storms will be gusty winds within a few hours of sunset this evening. Temperatures will gradually fall back into the 70s this evening.

We will continue to see scattered showers and a few light rumbles tonight, with lows falling into the mid 60s. Expect the weak front to drift south on Thursday, with some isolated showers possible early on, and then the focus will shift closer to the front to the southern part of our area as the day progresses. Highs on Thursday will be closer to normal in the upper 70s.

The front will slowly lift northward as a warm front on Friday, with showers and some storms possible, especially later in the day with highs in the lower 80s. Shower chances will continue through Friday night and early Saturday morning. For most of Saturday, we’ll see a few clouds and highs in the low to mid 80s.

Expect another frontal boundary to approach on Sunday, with a greater chance of showers and a few isolated storms. This chance increases throughout the day and we could have a few stronger storms through Sunday evening as our next cold front approaches. Highs on Sunday will remain in the low 80s.

We still have the chance of showers and storms on Monday, Memorial Day, with the chances being higher in the afternoon when it will get hot during the day as the boundary slides away from our area. Highs behind the front will be more seasonal in the mid-70s. Rain chances will decrease and become more isolated on Tuesday and Wednesday, with highs actually a little below normal in the lower 70s.
