The Woodlands Express cancels service to downtown Houston on May 17

Amid severe storms on the evening of May 16 and widespread damage in the Greater Houston area, the Woodlands Express canceled its downtown services on May 17, according to a Facebook post from The Woodlands Township.

However, as of 8:30 a.m., services at Houston Medical Center and Greenway were still operational, according to the post.

As of 8:30 a.m., The Woodlands area schools closed on May 17 were:

  • Tomball ISD
  • Magnolia DSI
  • Three Conroe ISD schools: Patterson Elementary School, Bozman Intermediate School and Stockton Junior High School

The Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management announced it is working with Entergy and Centerpoint on updates for residents without power. According to an overnight message from the agency, Centerpoint had suffered “catastrophic damage” in northern Harris County that could impact the area for several days.
