Oyo University guards arrested for allegedly raping female student while students undress “horny” lecturer

The management of Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo State, on Saturday announced the arrest of two members of its vigilante group for allegedly raping a female student of the institution.

Olufemi Atoyebi, the public relations officer of the university, issued a statement on behalf of the management, informing them that an internal committee had been formed to look into the allegation.

According to Atoyebi, the suspects were handed over to the police with an assurance that whoever is found guilty will face severe punishment after thorough investigation.

Therefore, he gave his word to everyone involved that the organization would not tolerate any misconduct that could tarnish its excellent reputation.

The statement read in part: “The management of Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, has received with shock a report of the alleged rape of one of our female students on Thursday, May 9, 2024, by two members of our vigilance group.”

“Management immediately handed the two alleged perpetrators over to the police, while the university set up its own internal investigation panel to investigate the allegation

“Management would like to reassure all stakeholders that ACU will not tolerate any misconduct that could tarnish its enviable image.

“Educating God-fearing intellectuals is our primary goal at ACU and we will not tolerate any wrongdoing that may divert our attention from our purpose. A severe sentence awaits anyone found guilty following our thorough investigation.”

Meanwhile, officials of the Ekiti State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps have arrested one Afolabi Ojo for allegedly raping a four-year-old student, angry students of the English department of the Federal University of Lokoja in Kogi State on Friday told a male lecturer for allegedly sexually harassing him moved out.

guide reports that the mother of the four-year-old girl reported the incident to the NSCDC Command in Ado-Ekiti where she informed officials that the attack occurred on Olujoda Street. The suspect was subsequently arrested.

During questioning, the girl revealed that the suspect took off her underwear and sexually assaulted her at the end of April.

Additionally, the girl’s mother stated that her daughter confided in her about the incident.

However, the suspect denied all allegations and claimed he was falsely accused.

The NSCDC Public Relations Officer in the state, Tolu Afolabi, confirmed that a medical examination of the girl revealed a tear in the hymen.

Afolabi reiterated that the command had launched an investigation into the matter.

In a similar development, a lecturer who was accused of constantly sexually harassing female students was stripped naked by several of his victims who banded together to carry out the act.

The lecturer, whose full name was not known at the time of filing this report, is said to be known for sexually harassing female students in the English department where he teaches.

According to one report, the lecturer was stripped down to his boxers by his students. It took the intervention of university security personnel to save him from further disgrace.

However, the lecturer was interrogated by the ladies, implicating his colleagues, including the Head of Department (HOD), claiming that they usually give him names of female students whom he can either ‘pass or fail’ based on their level of familiarity with their absence .

According to a Nation Newspaper report, the university’s spokesperson, Daniel Iyke, said the management was already aware of the development and immediately put mechanisms in place to investigate the matter.

“The thing is that the university has its own internal mechanism to take care of it.

“The report has been brought to the notice of the Vice-Chancellor and he has appointed a panel to investigate it. This was done immediately and the report or result will be announced as soon as it is available. At this point, that’s all I can do on a volunteer basis,” he said.
