Minooka Park incident exposed as lie | Waukesha County News

WAUKESHA — A caller’s statement that she was held at gunpoint in Minooka Park on Saturday turned out to be false. After 11:30 a.m., Waukesha County Communications received a 911 call about a man with a gun in Minooka Park. The caller stated she was held at gunpoint and forced to drive to another area of ​​the park. According to the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office, the caller stated the suspect fled into the woods.

The park was closed by the police.

The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office responded and was assisted by the Waukesha and New Berlin police departments.

“After speaking with the caller, it was later determined that this was a fabricated incident and the caller had fabricated the information. There was no threat to the public and park operations have been returned to normal. Charges will be filed against the caller with the District Attorney’s Office,” the sheriff’s office said.
