Man arrested in townhouse death, released

A man arrested on suspicion of murder after another man died in a city center home has been released.

Police said they were called to a man requiring medical attention in Queens Terrace, Southampton, just before 8:45am BST on Sunday.

A 54-year-old man from the city who was arrested on suspicion of murder has since been released without further action being taken.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police said the 42-year-old man’s death was being treated as “unexplained”.

A police spokesman said: “The circumstances are no longer treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.”

“Our thoughts remain with the family of the man who died.”
