Suspect arrested on further indecent liberties charges

Nicholas Lee Walentowski, 45, of Hartland Trail in Morganton, was arrested by Burke County Sheriff’s officers on Monday (July 22) on suspicion of sexual abuse of a child.

This is the second time the suspect has been arrested since June 28, which is also the day he was charged with a felony count of sexual battery, as previously reported on WHKY. This arrest came as a result of an investigation that was initiated when detectives with the Burke County Sheriff’s Office received information about a possible sexual abuse of a child.

The second warrant was served on Walentowski shortly before 2 p.m. on Monday. He was taken to the Burke County Jail on $45,000 bail. District court appearances were scheduled for Monday and Thursday (July 25).
