New Jersey man who sexually abused two girls for over a decade is sentenced

A New Jersey man who sexually abused two girls over an eleven-year period has been sentenced to 22 years in prison.

Ahmed Andre, 62, must serve more than 18 ½ years of his sentence before he can be released on parole, the Union County District Attorney’s Office said.

Andre, from Elizabeth, was found guilty in March of ten counts of aggravated sexual assault, sexual abuse, aggravated criminal use of sex life and endangering the welfare of a child after a two-week trial.

The investigation began after the Elizabeth School District tipped off prosecutors. The victims were 9 and 10 years old when the sexual abuse began, authorities said.
