Worcester man arrested in connection with stabbing in early May

WORCESTER – A local man was arrested in connection with a stabbing that occurred on Chandler Street earlier this month, Worcester police said.

Joseph Erb, 35, of Austin Street, was taken into custody on May 25 on a warrant for assault in connection with the May 2 stabbing.

Police responded to a 911 call on May 2 at approximately 3:35 p.m. and found a male victim with stab wounds on the sidewalk of lower Chandler Street.

A first responder provided medical assistance until the victim could be taken to the hospital by ambulance.

After the incident, criminal investigators launched an investigation that led to Erb’s arrest.

The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to gather information.

Worcester Police are urging anyone with information connected to the stabbing to come forward.
