One person arrested after shooting in Benton Township

A suspect is in police custody following a shooting in Benton Township early Monday.

Benton Township police said officers were called to the area of ​​1921 Union Street, Briarwood Apartments, around 3:40 a.m. for a report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found the 54-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the arm. He was taken to Corewell Health South Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 33-year-old male suspect was found at the scene and taken to the Berrien County Jail.
