Member of the kitchen crew

The main tasks include:

Advocate for a positive, inclusive, caring, safe, and fun camp environment and promote the values ​​of the Boy Scout Promise and Law
Perform physical labor in our commercial kitchen and dining room and complete tasks in a timely manner as determined by supervisor
Work as part of a team to meet the needs of warehouse operations
Participate in staff training and meetings as required
Follow work procedures as required by supervisor, including maintaining written records as required
Properly store warehouse supplies and equipment and manage resources wisely
Maintain all safety, sanitation and sanitation standards in work areas and warehouse premises

Minimum requirements:

Willingness to live and work respectfully and fruitfully with diverse staff and campers all day, with limited privacy and personal time
Willingness to be active all day, partly outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, humidity, rain, wind) and to walk extensively around camp
Willingness to be a role model of respect, positivity, smiling, happiness, kindness, patience, honesty, inclusiveness, good mental hygiene and responsibility, and respectfully self-regulating emotions in various circumstances
Willingness to listen, learn from and collaborate with others
Willingness to adopt a basic living environment and use group latrines (private toilets and showers) if living on-site
Willingness to learn and adhere to kitchen safety, sanitation and sanitation standards
Willingness to obtain a food handler certificate during staff training (kitchen staff).
Willingness to obtain the ServSafe Food Manager certificate prior to employee training (kitchen crew leader)
Experience in gastronomy and leading a team (Kitchen Crew Leader)
Ability to work long hours throughout the day and week (employees receive a personal break every day during the week and days off between sessions)
Ability to complete the full term (all weeks) of the camp agreement
