Pedestrian hit and killed on I-65 Saturday morning

CULLMAN COUNTY, Alabama – On Saturday morning at approximately 2:29 a.m., a 911 call was made because a pedestrian had been struck on southbound Interstate 65 between mile markers 293 and 294.

Cullman County Coroner Jeremy Kilpatrick confirmed that 20-year-old Madelyn Roxana Guerra of Silver Springs, Maryland, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kilpatrick said Guerra was struck by a passenger car, not a tractor-trailer.

This incident is under investigation.
