Lauren Boebert apologizes for speeding in police bodycam video

Police bodycam footage shows far-right Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) complaining about alleged problems with her car’s transmission control after she was stopped for speeding in Vail Pass, Colorado, in May.

“I was messing with my gears and I know I ended up going way too fast,” Boebert told a trooper in a Colorado State Patrol video obtained by Fox 31 Denver and posted online.

The officer told Boebert, whose driving had previously been investigated, that she “was doing 90 miles per hour for a second, but was pretty quick on the brakes.”

Boebert was ticketed for driving 84 miles per hour in a 65 mph zone.

She did not pay the $174.50 fine within the 20-day deadline, but later paid it after scheduling a court date, Westword reported.

Boebert won the Republican primary in Colorado’s 4th Congressional District last month, leaving Colorado’s 3rd District after an incredibly close 2022 race against Democrat Adam Frisch.
