Names released in Pitt County shooting that left two men dead

PITT COUNTY, NC (WITN) – Officials have released the names of two men killed in a shooting outside Farmville Sunday night.

Officers found 35-year-old Billy Holmes and 33-year-old Eric Caldwell dead in the home on South Glenwood Lane shortly before 8 p.m.

According to a press release, both men fired at least once during the shootout, hitting the other.

According to officials, two children, ages 8 and 10, were in the house at the time of the incident but were not injured.

According to deputies, Holmes lived in the house.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, the press release states.
