Man who drugged and raped woman during campaign of abuse sentenced to prison

A man who drugged and raped a woman during a horrific campaign of abuse has been jailed.

Frederick Allchorne, 62, from Wiltshire, was sentenced to 22 years in prison at Croydon Crown Court on Friday. He had already been placed on the sex offenses register for life following a conviction in 2010.

He had previously pleaded guilty to two counts of rape, five counts of intentionally administering a narcotic or overwhelming drug, five counts of indecent assault on a woman over 16 and one count of bigamy.

The victim, a woman in her 50s, went to a police station in Sutton in August 2018 to report years of abuse by her ex-partner.

The sexual abuse began in the mid-1980s when she was just 15 years old. She was drugged and raped multiple times, and woke up several times to find herself tied to the bed.

At one point, the victim woke up to find her tongue rolling down her throat, making her feel like she was choking, and she went to the hospital.

During the examination, a medical report was drawn up, which stated that the symptoms noted in the hospital were consistent with the effects of drug administration.

A psychologist conducted a report and diagnosed the victim with complex post-traumatic stress disorder caused by Allchorne’s abuse. The abuse also left her with serious physical injuries that continue to impact her life.

She left Allchorne in September 1991.

Tina, the victim, said in a statement: “The officers believed in me, you must come forward yourself. If you don’t it will catch up with you one day, it’s time to take back control. Don’t suffer in silence, you are not alone. Please step forward and you will be heard.”

Investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Laura Thomas, said: “The victim survivor in this case showed great courage in standing up to Allchorne and ensuring he was held accountable for his actions. “I want the strength and praise the commitment she has shown in this case.”
