Rapist criticised after ‘taking advantage of two women’

We reported how Beni Mubiala was imprisoned after raping two women in the city.

The 27-year-old was sentenced to nine years in prison at the High Court in Glasgow on Monday 8 July after pleading guilty on 7 June.

The crimes took place in July 2021 and April 2022.

After the verdict, Detective Inspector Danny Clark said: “Mubiala took advantage of two women he knew and must now face the consequences of his despicable actions.”

“I hope the verdict will bring some justice to his victims and allow them to move on with their lives.

“I would like to encourage anyone who has been a victim of a sexual crime to report it confidentially to the police, regardless of when it happened.

“Rest assured that we will do everything in our power to bring those responsible for this type of crime to justice.”
