According to a GoFundMe campaign organized by her sister, the 28-year-old and her friend were trying to “move and repair” a piano.

However, during transport, the piano slipped and crushed Danielle. She was taken to the emergency room where she underwent emergency surgery to stabilize her spine.

She was told her spine was “severed” and she had a “T11, T12 fracture” and “fusion of T10-L2” and was “paralyzed from the waist down,” she told Cleveland 19 News.

Danielle was also told she would “never walk again” and she has since spoken out about the incident.

Danielle told the news outlet that she’s “trying to keep her spirits up” despite the unexpected, colossal accident.

“I know this is my life now,” she said. “It is difficult.”

She said: “As of now” she knows she will have to undergo “a lot more physical therapy” to regain her strength and that she will have to move from living in a van with her dog to a more typical home.

When asked if she would return to Cleveland to be with her family, she said, “I don’t even know how I would get home. Not to mention how all the transfers would work with all the medical stuff.”

“Right now I don’t think I can manage such a long car ride or plane ride.”

Danielle’s sister has since set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for her medical expenses.

The description reads: “My little sister means a lot to me and I hope any help received can financially support her future medical needs.”

“Our family thanks you for all your support, consideration, thoughts, love and prayers. If you are unable to help financially, it would be greatly appreciated if you share with us.”

“I don’t like doing this, but it has to be done for the sake of my sister. She wouldn’t hesitate to stop to help someone in need. Such a strong and wise woman, down to earth and humble, her aura reflects her beautiful soul.

“We will get through this with lots of prayers and positive guidance. This is now in God’s hands, please keep them close.”
