Pedestrians are at risk even at intersections. Stay alert, especially in pedestrian areas. You may need to yield or stop for people crossing the street in the middle of a block, at crosswalks, or in a parking lot. If you see a car slowing down at a crosswalk, you can assume there is a pedestrian crossing ahead of it. Remember that paying attention and yielding go hand in hand.
