Natuzzi Italia’s New Houston Store Attracts Top Designers, Italian Enthusiasts and Furniture Lovers to Grand Opening Night

TTo celebrate the opening of Natuzzi Italia’s Houston showroom, more than 150 design enthusiasts joined the brand’s director PJ Natuzzi and one welcoming committee composed of designers Anita Smith, Shannon Mann, Courtnay Tartt Elias, Brandon Fontenot, Kelie Mayfield And Alexandra Killion for an exclusive evening.

The new 5,550-square-foot space at Uptown Park, designed by world-renowned architect Fabio Novembre, is the Italian luxury furniture maker’s sixth store in Texas and Natuzzi Italia’s twelfth in the United States. The company’s other brand, Natuzzi Editions, currently has nine stores across the country.

The architecture of the new Houston store focuses on warmth and curves, as well as a Mediterranean-inspired aesthetic.

Guests were greeted at the entrance with Spritz aperitifs and carefully selected Italian wines. Culinaire, the evening’s caterer, also served light bites inspired by the cuisine of Puglia, the region of Italy where Natuzzi hails from. Heritage and family are key tenets for the furniture maker, founded in 1959 by Pasquale Natuzzi, PJ’s father.

Luxury sofas, beds, tables and chairs, all embodying the Italian craftsmanship and innovation that family-owned Natuzzi is renowned for, were on display. People gathered around the Green Rabbit installation, a large luxurious armchair artistically designed to resemble the ears of a rabbit. The armchair is the brainchild of PJ Natuzzi, Fabio Novembre and Giuliano Sangiorgi. It celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Sangiorgi group known as Negramaro.

The interior design center, an integral part of the showroom, where architects, designers and all other decoration enthusiasts can work with the consultants of the Natuzzi stores, has also attracted a lot of attention. This is not an ordinary center. It is a true paradise of collaborative design.
