Police search for South Philly burglars posing as construction workers – NBC10 Philadelphia

Philadelphia police officials are asking the public for help in identifying a pair of burglars who allegedly robbed a South Philly home after lying to the homeowner about inspecting the patio.

According to police, the incident occurred on June 12, 2024, around 2:30 p.m., when a man knocked on the door of a home in the 2900 block of South Juniper Street.

At the time, police said, the man told the homeowner he was from a construction company and needed to inspect a deck on the property at the request of a building inspector.

The homeowner walked with the suspected burglar back to the back patio of the house, and while they were distracted, a second man entered the house, according to police.

Police said that while the homeowner was occupied for about five to ten minutes, a second man sneaked up the stairs and stole various jewelry.

No threats or violence were used in this incident. Police said the offenders left the property on foot and headed north on Juniper Street.

Police describe the first person as a man between 25 and 25 years old, between 6’4 and 6’1″ tall, with a heavy build and weighing approximately 220 to 260 pounds. He had a light brown complexion and, according to officials, was wearing a dark-colored baseball cap, a black shirt over a white shirt, and blue jeans at the time of the incident.

The second man was of about the same height, of medium build and his age was unknown, according to police. He had a light brown complexion and was wearing a dark hat, black jacket and blue jeans at the time of the alleged robbery, according to police.
