Henry County Sheriff’s Office

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) – Two teenagers are in the Henry County Jail without bail after shooting into an occupied car last week, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday.

On May 18, at approximately 7:37 p.m., Henry County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the Housing Authority on South Dale Court in Abbeville for reports of shots being fired.

According to Sheriff Eric Blankenship, when officers arrived they found an occupied SUV that had been shot at multiple times and determined that two young men had fired shots at the vehicle and fled on foot before being apprehended and taken to Dothan.

Sheriff Blankenship says after a lengthy investigation, the suspects, 18-year-old Sah’derik Marquise Mills and an unidentified 16-year-old, were arrested and charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle. Both are being held without bail in the Henry County Jail.

“We were very fortunate that no one was injured in this incident. Gun violence is on the rise across our country, but we will do everything we can to stop it here in Henry County,” said Sheriff Blankenship.
