Woman raped in horror attack on Blackpool seafront

An investigation has been launched after a woman was raped in a horrific attack on Blackpool seafront. Police received reports that the victim was attacked along the promenade in the early hours of Thursday morning (May 16).

The rape reportedly occurred between 1:30 a.m. and 3 a.m. between the Blue Water Hotel and the North Pier. Investigators are now asking for information and are particularly looking for a man who they believe could help with the investigation.



The man is described as a tall Asian man in his mid-30s, with a slim build, wearing multi-colored flared pants, a short-sleeved top and a black durag.

Det Insp Liam Davy, of Lancashire Police West CID, said: “This is a serious crime and we are working hard to identify the person responsible. The victim is looked after by specially trained officers.

“We know this may be alarming, but we would like to reassure you that we have launched an investigation and have increased targeted patrols in the area while the investigation is ongoing.
