Joey Chestnut Accepts Challenge to Eat 200 Boneless Wings on Monday

Professional eater Joey Chestnut confirmed on social media Sunday that he will attempt to eat 200 boneless wings at Buffalo Wild Wings on Monday.

Chestnut has had an interesting summer. The 16-time Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest champion was kicked out of the event this summer after signing a sponsorship deal with Impossible Foods, which makes plant-based meat substitutes.

Instead, he attended the Pop Goes the Fort celebration in El Paso and won the hot dog eating contest by gobbling down 57 hot dogs in five minutes, while his four soldier competitors only ate a total of 49 hot dogs.

Chestnut would have easily won Nathan’s annual event if he had been eligible: Patrick Bertoletti won by eating 58 hot dogs in 10 minutes. Chestnut nearly beat his total in half the time.

Chestnut will also face longtime rival Takeru Kobayashi in a hot dog eating contest on Labor Day.
