Twenty dead in Israeli attack, fighting rages in the Gaza Strip

Gaza was subjected to heavy air and ground attacks overnight from Saturday to Sunday, as a hospital in the center of the enclave reported receiving 20 dead civilians.

An Israeli airstrike hit a residential building in the Nuseirat refugee camp, killing 20 people and wounding others, Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital said in a statement.

The Israeli military fought fierce battles with Palestinian militants including Islamic Jihad and Hamas in the Jabalia area of ​​the northern Gaza Strip and in the southern city of Rafah on Sunday, with several rocket attacks reported.

Meanwhile, senior U.S. security official Jake Sullivan will land in Israel on Sunday after talks in Riyadh with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman over a U.S.-Saudi agreement as well as the war in Gaza and ceasefire negotiations.
