Red Dead Redemption 2 players realize they've been fishing wrong for years

Have you ever sunk many hours into a game before realizing you’ve been doing a simple function wrong the entire time? We know you have, but don’t worry, this is a judgment-free zone!

Another judgment-free zone is r/RDR2, where players came together to share some of their most embarrassing realizations after being lost for a few hours Red Dead Redemption 2.

From the people who didn’t realize their horses were starving to the people who never got to grips with the game’s dueling mechanics, it seems the massive open-world title had some confusing features for many players.

However, one area that many people (including me) struggled with was the fishing mechanic. Listen, fishing is supposed to be relaxing, and at the end of a fishing session both me and Arthur were cursing in frustration.

It seems I’m not the only one, as one user said: “I only realized on my second playthrough that you can make fishing easier by pulling the left stick up and down, using the right stick to… To stop resistance and change something “The rewind button must be held down instead of turning the right stick.”

Of course, this only applies to the players Red Dead Redemption 2 on the controller, but this is still a handy tip for those struggling to make a catch.

Not only does fishing reward you with a good supply of food, but it can also earn Arthur a tidy profit if his fishing skills bring him a legendary fish. Or it’s just a way to relax after dealing with Micah all day.

Additionally, since some players admit to wandering aimlessly for several hours before realizing they could open a map, it’s a good reminder that someone always has it worse than you.
