Trump slams Jewish Democrats as he attacks Biden over threat to withhold US weapons from Israel

Former President Donald Trump said in an interview Thursday that he “wouldn’t do what Biden did” on Israel policy as he responded to President Joe Biden’s comments on Wednesday about arms sales to Israel should the military enter Rafah.

Trump also invoked dual loyalty, doubling down on recent comments criticizing Jewish Democrats in an interview with North Carolina’s Spectrum News 1, saying, “If you’re a Jewish person, just don’t vote for Biden.” , because “you’re doing really bad.” Your country is now completely gone, on the other side. He disappeared – he abandoned Israel.

“If you’re Jewish and you vote for him, I’m ashamed of you,” Trump continued.

Trump has made similar comments in recent months, drawing backlash, including saying last month that Jewish Democrats “should be talked to.” In 2019, he said Jewish Democrats were “very disloyal to Israel.”

Trump spoke after Biden said in an interview with CNN that the US would stop sending offensive weapons to Israel if its troops enter Rafah.

“Well, I wouldn’t do what Biden did. He simply abandoned Israel. I’ve never seen anything like that,” Trump said in the interview Thursday when asked if he would tell Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that there is a limit to Israel’s war effort.

When asked directly whether he agreed with Israel entering Rafah, a city in the southern Gaza Strip where over a million Palestinians are seeking refuge, Trump replied: “They have to do their job.” Look, they were killed on January 7th October brutally attacked. There were scenes that no one had ever seen.”

Trump has maintained similarly aggressive statements about Israel’s military efforts, regularly saying at campaign rallies that Israel must “finish the job.” He has also claimed that the war between Israel and Hamas would never have happened if he had still been in the White House because of his relationships with foreign leaders.

“Well, I said they should get this work over with quickly, they need to find their own solution, but they need to get this work over and done quickly because the world is exploding around them. So they have to do their job quickly,” Trump said Tuesday in an interview with NBC affiliate WGAL in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Biden’s campaign hit back, with spokesman Charles Lutvak saying Trump “shows up every month with the same condescending anti-Semitic blather, reminding Jewish voters that he has no respect for us.”
